About This Place

Nestled in the charming Barrio de Jalatlaco of Oaxaca de Juárez, Xiguela Café is a delightful coffee shop that offers more than just your typical cup of coffee. This cozy spot creates a warm and inviting atmosphere, perfect for a relaxed breakfast or casual lunch where fresh, wholesome food is at the heart of every dish.

What truly sets Xiguela Café apart is its commitment to organic, high-quality ingredients, many sourced directly from their adjacent organic store. This connection to fresh and natural produce is palpable in every bite. Customers rave about the charming blend of affordability and freshness — from vibrant fruit and flaky pastries to perfectly brewed coffee, each item tastes genuinely homemade and thoughtfully prepared.

Among their celebrated menu offerings, the chilaquiles stand out as a must-try, celebrated for their comforting yet lively flavors that balance crispy tortillas wrapped in rich, savory sauces. Sandwich lovers will delight in the freshly baked ciabatta sandwiches, such as the “ciabatta de pollo con tomates asados” filled with roasted tomatoes and tender chicken, bursting with rustic, wholesome flavors. The “Ensalada Alegre” is another fan favorite — a refreshing mix of crisp, vibrant greens paired with sweet seasonal fruits, creating a symphony of textures and tastes that feel both nourishing and indulgent.

Beyond food, Xiguela Café enhances the dining experience with thoughtfully crafted beverages. Kombucha offered here provides a tangy, healthful refreshment, perfectly complementing the organic and fresh ethos of the menu. The friendly, attentive service and quaint setting make it an ideal spot for a casual meal, whether catching up with friends or taking a quiet moment to savor delightful flavors.

Regular visitors appreciate how this café manages to combine authenticity with a contemporary organic twist. The warmth of the space and the sincerity of the food leave you feeling truly cared for — as if you’re stepping into a local secret that nourishes body and soul alike. Whether you’re here for a fresh pastry, a soul-satisfying breakfast, or a thoughtfully composed lunch, Xiguela Café offers an experience that lingers sweetly long after the last bite.

Excellent breakfast; affordable price fix combinations as well as a la carte items. Coffee, fruit and pastries are well priced and fresh. I definitely recommend the chilaquiles

Perfect for when you want a wholesome and reasonably priced meal. They use high quality organic ingredients since they have a organic store next to the cafeteria. Portions are very good. Taste is delicious. We had the “ciabatta de pollo con tomates asados”, and the “alegre” salad - both were delicious. They have kombucha which is definitely a plus. Great spot for a casual lunch.

A small local Organic Food store, convenient to the area. Across 5 de Mayo they have a very nice organic cafe/restaurant. Most of the pictures are of the cafe across the street. The cafe used to be behind the food store which leads to the confusion.

Most delicious sandwich with profit and pesto, loaded with fresh vegetables. The ciabatta tasted like it just came of the oven. Cute space, friendly service.
